I still see snow out my window. It’s almost gone but not quite yet. However, everything I see in retail screams summer. And I get it. Those of you with vacation plans are diving head first into this inventory. I can’t blame you. I love what I see so far and I’m looking forward to filling my closet with these spring to summer trends.

One of the trends that seems popular right now and will carry into summer is eyelet. I’m seeing it pop up everywhere. Eyelet beckons summer. It’s a lightweight airy fabric that keeps you cool in the hot summer months. Right now we are seeing it in tops and dresses in a variety of styles, including the latest one shoulder and off the shoulder trends. Eyelet is a versatile fabric and makes an appearance every summer in some form but not always this early in the season. This may indicate that there is an increased interest in this fabric this season and we may be seeing more eyelet than usual.

This is an easy trend to participate in due to the fact that it is available in a wide variety of styles and colors to make it flattering on multiple body types. Find the style and color that works for you. If you’re eager to incorporate this into your wardrobe sooner than later try to find an eyelet top. Pair this with a cropped jacket or a cardigan and a pair of jeans to wear in colder temps until the weather starts to catch up with your closet! Eyelet generally looks great with jeans or a jean jacket. The simplicity of eyelet also calls for keeping the rest of your outfit simple and have the focus on the eyelet detail.

I know that while I continue to talk about spring, you're looking out your window at snow. Somehow I seem unable to wish it away. Just when I think we're ready for warmer temps Mother Nature says "not yet...." (Sigh.) So, since these temps will not let us start using our spring wardrobe, what is a girl to do?! Well, how about adding some spring accessories to your wardrobe instead? A little touch of spring to make you feel like it's not that far away!

The days are now longer and that is definitely helping my season depression. But a little spring in my closet will go a long way too. And this season's spring accessories are perfect for lifting your mood.

The trends we are seeing this season include the feminine detail that we have come to love about spring. Pastels are in full bloom with an emphasis on pink. Glitter is still a noticeable detail in items from earrings to shoes. Earrings are a this season's statement piece. We are seeing less statement necklaces and a trend toward more simple delicate necklaces. Chokers are still popular and available in a wide variety of styles from pastel velvets to gold chain links and embellished with sparkle. We are also seeing tassels and charms added this spring. Finally, initials are popular from jewelry to bags as they have been for some time. So there is something for everyone with such wide variety, which means there are plenty of options to add to your wardrobe while the temperatures are still catching up.
