summer to fall

Can I Still Wear White?

So I'm sure you've heard the saying "No white after Labor Day". I don't really follow this rule. I happen to love the look of white and will wear it as often as I can.

White might be considered a summer color. And classic fall colors are dark and jewel toned. But as we are transitioning into fall, you can incorporate fall colors into your summer wardrobe.

I love the idea of winter white. But that doesn't mean I have to pack away my summer whites on Labor Day. I'll continue to wear my summer white jeans well into Fall. Even in the crisp fall air my white jeans will pair well with suede, leather, velvet and cashmere to carry then further in my wardrobe.

If you're in need of a little inspiration take a look below at some outfits I found on Pinterest! I love looking for inspiration on Pinterest to see what others have done and get ideas for my own outfits. If you don't already, follow me or any of your favorite brands on Pinterest to see how they pair items you might have in your closet!

Love the neutral combination of beige and white. The texture of her sweater bring a coziness to the whole outfit!

These suede ankle booties bring these white jeans right into fall! The chunky gray sweater is a perfect match for the distressed jeans creating a casual but trendy outfit.

If you're wondering when you wear that sleeveless chunky turtleneck sweater, early fall is the time! Paired with white jeans, you are still calling on the summer elements while incorporate a fall feel.

This moto jacket is everything to this outfit. The color and fabric is perfect for fall and pairs beautifully with the rest of her neutral outfit. The white jeans stand out against an ivory base. Plus the accessories are on pointe bringing the whole outfit together.

Here we see the fall burgundy color as a standout. The fabric in this outfit is very summer and will her cool on a warm fall day but the color is all she needs to stand in tune with the season!

The Open Toe Ankle Bootie

I love the look of an open toe ankle bootie. With that said, I resisted buying a pair at first. I couldn't figure out when I would ever wear it! I like more practical items that I can get more use out of. These do not fall into that category. They have to be worn in perfect weather... just a hint of cool and completely dry. When does that weather pattern happen? Well, now actually!

End of Summer/Beginning of Fall is a great time for these shoes! They can be very versatile in your wardrobe so you can get a decent number of wears in during the season if you pair them with everything! From jeans to skirts, dresses and more, these ankle booties will go casual on the weekend, dress up for dinner out and then get serious for work on Monday!

I love the look of an ankle bootie with a dress or a skirt but hesitated to wear it as I'm only 5'1. As a petite gal, ankle booties are usually not recommended because they cut your leg at your ankle and give the illusion of being shorter than you are. Not something you want as a petite. However, I noticed that an ankle bootie in a nude color didn't have that same affect. So don't feel left out fellow petites... in a nude color, you too can pull of this look with a dress or skirt!

Here is a pair that I purchased a couple of years ago from Ann Taylor. They cut out detail offers that little something extra to these nude booties!
