Many moons ago, I treated myself to a bra fitting. I did it because I was going to a lot of weddings at that time in my life and I seemed to be wearing a strapless bra to almost all of them. However, I could not seem to find a strapless bra that was really comfortable and fit well. Finally I decided to make an appointment for a fitting at Intimacy in Boston.
I was a little nervous going in although I'm not sure why. They were fabulous. I had a great experience. The girl I worked with was super helpful and not only did they help me find a strapless bra that I still wear to this day, I think I also bought two other bras while I was there.
If you've never been fitted, you don't know what you're missing. If you go to a place that specializes in fittings, these ladies know what they're talking about. They will show you how a bra is suppose to fit and how the right bra will hold everything exactly where it's suppose to be. As you get older, this becomes increasing important. But don't be fooled, even the perky young woman can benefit from the right bra.
First off, the right bra will transform your entire wardrobe. It will make you look slimmer and leaner. Your clothes will fit better. You will be amazed at the difference. If you have never been fitted, chances are that you're wearing the wrong size. Schedule a fitting as soon as possible. You can thank me later.
But it's not just about the bra. If you haven't invested in a pair of Spanx, it might be time for that too. A good pair of Spanx will smooth everything out. You might be sitting there thinking you don't need Spanx. Trust me, that chances are you would be surprised to see the difference that they make. In particular, for items of clothing that sit close to the body or materials that tend to cling, Spanx can make all the difference. They come in all kinds of shapes, colors and sizes. They can cover as much or as little as you like. If you haven't tried it... now is the time!
Once you have all the right undergarments in all the right sizes, try on your wardrobe again. I promise that your clothes will fit differently. You'll be amazed at the difference. You may even find that the clothes you've been wearing are actually a size too big for you. Or maybe you need a few things tailored. But if you don't try, you'll never know.
