In Pink

In Pink Inspiration & Style

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center’s In Pink Brunch & Fashion Show again. This is a beautiful annual even that I am honored to be invited to attend. The energy and enthusiasm in the room are contagious and fill you as a guest with hope and positivity. The room is always decorated beautiful in shades of pink. This year the details included pink pumpkin centerpieces and pashminas in shade of pink and teal tied around every chair. The color is overwhelming in the best way possible. The speakers are wonderful and then there is the fashion show… clearly my favorite part!

The fashions were provided courtesy of Chic Consignment of Andover. The gorgeous models showed off the latest fall trends varying from day to night style, casual to elegant and everything in between. The fall trends included booties, full skirts, cropped jackets, texture and pops of color.  Glitter, sequins and metallic items are popular this fall from jackets to accessories and shoes. I’m seeing this trend everywhere and the runway was no exception. Bright pops of color are also trending this fall. The color pop is popular in coats, shoes and accessories. The fashion show was dripping in high quality items showcasing brands from Vince, Miu Miu, St. John, Prada and much more.

While I loved all the fashion moments, the highlight was seeing these gorgeous models who all contribute to the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is some way. One of the models is even fighting her own battle with cancer. These lovely ladies truly embody the beauty that it is to be a part of something so special.

This event is always a lovely reminder that we can make a positive impact in our world and that so many women are doing so every day. Have the confidence to not only do your part but encourage others to do their part as well. It takes a village and we are capable of so much. I love when so many women can create a beautiful wave of positivity. I hope it travels far.

In Pink: Awareness & Fashion

I had the pleasure of attending the 7th Annual In Pink Brunch and Fashion Show at the Andover Country Club hosted by the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. What a beautiful event it was. From the décor to the speakers, the community and the fashion, the event was a gorgeous and heartfelt occasion.

The mission of the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center is to improve and maintain the health of individuals and families in the Merrimack Valley by providing a network of high quality, comprehensive health care services and by training health care professionals to respond to the needs of a culturally diverse population.

The speakers representing GLFHC at the In Pink brunch were engaging and informative. Also speaking at the brunch was Candy O'Terry. She is probably best known as a long time Boston radio personality on Magic 106.7fm. For those of you who are not familiar with her story (which included myself until this weekend), she lost her mother to breast cancer at the age of 18. She spoke with a charisma that captivated a room of almost 400 people. Her warmth and her energy are infectious. I was moved by her story as was the rest of the audience.

After a lovely brunch, amazing speakers that were following by a live auction, we were treated to a fantastic fashion show. The runway featured clothing from three local stores: Chic Consignment of Andover, Dress Barn and CoCo Collection of Andover. From eveningwear to workwear and even weekend casual, they covered it all! The fashion was both trendy and on point, including current favorite trends such as the choker necklace, bomber jacket, cape, metallic and off the shoulder. The fashion show also educated the audience on pairing prints and using leopard print as a neutral! For those with more traditional taste, the runway also featured classics such as the LBD, the trench, the poncho, and mosaic print top. The entire event was an absolute delight! All those who attended were treated to amazing speakers, delicious fair, wonderful auction items and a spectacular fashion show. We laughed, we cried .... we all left having learned a little more about the work of this tremendous organization and reminded of the compassion that we strive to have for each other.
