Bow

Bringing Back The Bow

I remember as a little girl having patent leather mary jane’s with bows. There were always bows on my shoes. Then later on when it wasn’t bows, it was some other clip on the front on my shoe. Maybe this was a thing of the 80’s and into the 90’s. Now suddenly, reminding me of my youth, I’m seeing bows everywhere once again.

They never fully went away. I may have avoided them for a while but I do have ballet flats with bows. Strappy shoes have been popular in recent years and those can be tied into a bow. But now the more traditional larger bow is making a full comeback. And it’s available in all kinds of styles… flats, pumps, sandals, even boots! That little feminine detail is making a statement. And at a time when we’re embracing our feminine power, these bows are making a statement. (Ok, maybe I’m making in a bigger deal of it… but it’s an empowering thought.)

I’ve always thought there’s a lot of power in the details. The details are what distinguish an item, make a statement, and personalize your style. Try to find the details that suit your personality. Maximize your use of those to make your style statement. Whether it’s a color you love, or a fashion trend you embrace, or maybe just a bow… make it yours.
