Trend Alert: Tie Front Tops

Tie front shirts have popped up in the past and are suddenly reappearing this summer. This is one trend that doesn't really work for everyone. The first thing to note is that when you add detail to an item of clothing you're drawing attention to that area. In this case, the tie front is bringing attention to your mid-section. If you're already insecure about your midsection, you might want to avoid anything that will bring added attention to it.

You might be thinking that the knot will disguise any bumps in your midsection. And that might be true. However, not in good way. The knot itself is adding volume. So if you're already insecure about your waist, adding volume in this area might not give you the look that you're searching for.

The size of the knot, the texture of the fabric, and the placement of the knot on your body will make a big difference in terms of how this trends works for you. Like anything, the best thing to do is try it on your body and see for yourself! This is definitely not a one size fits all situation so different styles will yield different results. Find the one that works for you!
